Osmo Polyx-Oil Raw Matte 3051

Osmo Polyx-Oil Raw Matte 3051

from $2.99

Osmo Polyx-Oil Raw Matte 3051 is designed to retain an untreated appearance on light colored woods such as Oak, Ash, Birch and Maple. It neutralizes the permanent ‘wet-look’ that develops after the application of a clear oil-based finish and keeps the wood looking raw and untreated. It was designed with less white pigments than Osmo 3041 so that on open pore species, such as Oak or Ash, the white pigment would not show through on multiple coats. Based on natural vegetable oils and waxes.

  • Light woods stay light; counters the ambering effect seen with most oil finishes

  • Tough and hard wearing

  • Microporous surface

  • Resistant to common household stains such as coffee and wine

  • Resistant to saliva and perspiration

  • Suitable for children’s toys

  • Made in Germany

APPLICATION

  1. Stir Polyx-Oil well and prior to each use. Apply very, very thin coats.

  2. First coat on the raw, sanded wood. Approximately 320 sqft/1 L.

  3. Mistakes in the wet coating can be corrected up to 30 minutes after the first application.

  4. Drying time approximately 24 hours under normal climate conditions (73*F/50% relative humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity can increase drying time. Allow for good ventilation.

  5. If desired, the dried finish can be lightly hand sanded with fine grit sandpaper (320 or higher) or with a Scotchbrite pad before applying the second coat.

  6. Second coat approximately 320 sqft/1 L with clear Polyx-Oil.

  7. Drying time for clear Polyx-Oil is approximately 8-10 hours under normal conditions (see #3).
