This Large Flat Spokeshave is used for fine finishing of outside curves and shaping straight pieces of wood into ovals, rounds, etc. Also excels at detailing edges.

• Flat sole made of brass which will protect the mouth.

• It is 11” long x 1” wide x 7/8” high.

• Weighs 1.1 lbs.

• Option of an O1 Tool Steel (TS) blade hardened to RC 62-64 OR a High Speed Steel (HSS) blade hardened to RC 62.

• Blade pitch of 55 degrees for superior results on hard, difficult, or reversing grain.

• Blade is reversible to bevel up, effectively creating a blade pitch of 85 degrees, allowing the spokeshave to be used as a scraper. It’s two tools in one.

• The HSS is ideal if you plan to reverse the blade to bevel up and use it as a scraper on difficult grain because it will hold up better under heat. However, it will take longer to sharpen.

• The blade is 1 3/8” long x 1 3/4”wide x 1/16” thick.

• Made from Gidgee, a very dense and stable Australin wood.
